Your Travel Role represents the Pathway your Hero is most strongly identified with when traveling alongside others. It reflects the role they naturally fall into when the group must rely on individual expertise—whether that means leading through danger, interpreting the unknown, finding a way forward, negotiating passage, or drawing upon greater forces.
A Hero may train in several Pathways, but a Travel Role identifies a contribution they are known for within the party. It is narrative guidance only and grants no additional Versatility, Breakthrough benefit, or other bonus.

Choose the Pathway that best represents the role your Hero naturally assumes within the traveling party. Your choice determines the traditional Rhun-language title associated with that role.

A Travel Role may change if your Hero's development causes another Pathway to become a more meaningful expression of who they have become.
Your Role Within the Group Copy link
A Travel Role also describes the contribution other Heroes have come to expect from you.
A Tenthar meets danger directly, protects others, and pushes through physical opposition. An Arknite relies upon preparation, tools, navigation, craftsmanship, and practical solutions. A Kaldara interprets maps, histories, ruins, signs, and knowledge others might overlook.
A Shevah understands the unseen Threads running through the world and recognizes supernatural disturbances. An Elovesh handles negotiation, trust, social dangers, and the people encountered along the road. A Thia interprets and invokes divine forces, while a Thiar acts through devotion, conviction, and their relationship to those greater powers.
These roles are not restrictions. An Arknite may fight, a Tenthar may negotiate, and a Kaldara may scout ahead. Travel Role helps describe how a Hero contributes to a journey; resolve their actions using the normal rules for the declared Pathway and Moment.
