When Pressure Becomes Action Copy link
Conflict begins whenever a Hero’s goals meet resistance.
Sometimes that resistance comes from another person. Sometimes it comes from fear, reputation, obligation, danger, or the threat of violence. Not every conflict becomes a battle, and not every confrontation is resolved through words. What matters is that something important is being contested.
In Rhuna, Conflict is divided into two primary forms: Social Conflict and Physical Conflict.
Social Conflict governs the pressures of conversation, influence, reputation, belief, and emotional control. It determines how Heroes navigate negotiation, manipulation, intimidation, persuasion, and moments where their convictions are challenged.
Physical Conflict governs trained martial action. It determines how Heroes use weapons, armor, shields, and Prowess when a confrontation turns violent.
The two often overlap. A conversation may prevent a battle, provoke one, or determine the conditions under which it begins. Likewise, the outcome of violence may reshape reputation, authority, relationships, and future negotiations.
Conflict is therefore not simply a question of whether a Hero succeeds.
It is the moment when what they want, what they believe, and what they are willing to risk are tested by the world around them.
