Every Hero develops areas of expertise that set them apart from others who have studied the same subjects. A historian may devote decades to a single forgotten empire, while another spends their life researching divine relics. Two healers may both understand medicinal plants, yet one specializes in desert herbs while the other has mastered remedies found only in the frozen north.
These specialized fields of understanding are your Minor Topics.
A Minor Topic represents focused knowledge nested within one of your Major Topics. It reflects a Hero's personal interests, lived experiences, dedicated study, or hard-earned expertise. While Major Topics describe the broad disciplines your Hero understands, Minor Topics reveal the unique paths they have followed within those disciplines.
A Major Topic answers the question, "What does your Hero know?"
A Minor Topic answers, "What are they especially known for knowing?"

Every Minor Topic should naturally belong beneath one of your existing Major Topics.
When choosing a Minor Topic, consider the experiences that shaped your Hero's understanding of the world. Ask yourself what captured their curiosity, where they spent years studying, or what events left a lasting impression on their life.
Minor Topics may represent formal education, apprenticeships, cultural traditions, personal obsessions, or lessons learned through survival. Some Heroes become respected scholars of forgotten civilizations, while others earn their expertise through years spent traveling dangerous frontiers.
There is no single path to expertise.

Whenever a Minor Topic directly relates to the current situation, your Hero possesses unusually deep familiarity with that subject.
This specialized understanding may allow them to notice details others overlook, recall obscure information, recognize subtle patterns, or approach problems from a perspective unavailable to those with only broader knowledge.
Depending on the circumstances, the WorldKeeper may allow a Minor Topic to:
Reveal additional information.
Provide greater insight into a situation.
Reduce uncertainty before a Performance.
Lower the Difficulty of an appropriate Performance.
Justify particularly creative or specialized solutions.
Minor Topics never replace their associated Major Topic. Instead, they deepen it, representing expertise within a much larger field of knowledge.
