A Hero’s Social Disposition reflects the kinds of social environments in which they naturally feel most comfortable. It does not determine how socially skilled, charismatic, persuasive, or confident they are. Instead, it describes the situations where they are most at ease expressing themselves and interacting with others.
Choose one Social Disposition: Introverted, Ambiverted, or Extroverted.
Social Disposition influences Comfort, a situational bonus that may apply during Influence Challenges.
COMFORT Copy link
If the WorldKeeper determines that a Hero is operating within a social environment that naturally suits their disposition, the Hero gains 1 Versatility Token (1V) FOR the Performance.
Comfort is not chosen by the player and should not be treated as a tactical bonus to pursue. It represents moments when a Hero’s personality naturally aligns with the tone, structure, or energy of the social situation unfolding around them.
EXTROVERTED Copy link
Extroverted Heroes tend to feel most comfortable in energetic, public, and highly social environments. They often thrive when surrounded by activity, discussion, collaboration, or attention.
An Extroverted Hero may feel particularly at ease during public speeches, festivals, large negotiations, military gatherings, guild meetings, crowded taverns, community celebrations, or other situations where social energy is high and interaction is constant.
Extroversion does not automatically make a Hero persuasive or socially capable. It simply means that these larger, more active environments are less likely to feel draining or restrictive to them.
INTROVERTED Copy link
Introverted Heroes tend to feel most comfortable in quiet, focused, personal, or reflective interactions. They often thrive when conversation is deliberate, structured, and meaningful rather than fast-moving or crowded.
An Introverted Hero may feel particularly at ease during one-on-one negotiations, small councils, research sessions, conversations in libraries or private chambers, careful planning, mentorship, or intimate social gatherings.
Introversion does not imply shyness, insecurity, or poor social ability. An Introverted Hero may be an exceptional speaker, negotiator, or leader while still preferring environments where attention is concentrated and interaction is more controlled.
AMBIVERTED Copy link
Ambiverted Heroes are socially adaptable and are often comfortable moving between different kinds of social environments. They may enjoy both solitude and company, shifting naturally between quieter conversations and larger gatherings depending on circumstance.
An Ambiverted Hero may find Comfort among familiar groups, moderate gatherings, travel companions, mixed social environments, or situations where they are free to engage actively and withdraw when needed.
Because Ambiverted Heroes are defined more by adaptability than specialization, the WorldKeeper should generally award Comfort to them across a broader variety of situations, but less frequently than for a strongly Introverted or Extroverted Hero.
USING SOCIAL DISPOSITION Copy link
Social Disposition exists primarily to help define who a Hero is rather than to provide a predictable mechanical advantage.
The WorldKeeper should award Comfort sparingly and only when a Hero’s disposition meaningfully aligns with the structure, tone, and energy of the scene. A player should choose the disposition that best reflects their Hero’s personality rather than the option they believe will produce the most frequent bonus.
If there is uncertainty about whether Comfort applies, the WorldKeeper has final discretion.
Social Disposition should reinforce characterization and roleplay rather than encourage players to manipulate scenes in search of mechanical advantage.
