Invocations are manifestations of the Three Cosmic Fires that shape reality: Order, Balance, and Chaos. Through devotion, training, and force of will, a Hero may call upon these primordial principles to influence the world around them.
Unlike ordinary actions, Invocations do not rely solely on skill or circumstance. They express fundamental truths woven into the fabric of Rhun itself. Each Invocation Keyword represents a distinct way those cosmic forces may be directed, allowing Heroes to shape events through the lens of the Fire they serve.
Order seeks structure, certainty, preservation, and purpose. Its Invocations establish boundaries, strengthen foundations, restore stability, and bring clarity to what is uncertain.
Balance seeks harmony, reflection, exchange, and equilibrium. Its Invocations redistribute forces, create connections, reconcile opposites, and ensure that no single influence dominates unchecked.
Chaos seeks transformation, disruption, dissolution, and possibility. Its Invocations unravel certainty, break limitations, accelerate change, and create outcomes that could not otherwise exist.
The Invocation Cards that follow provide common expressions of these cosmic principles. They are not exhaustive spells or rigid powers. Instead, they serve as narrative and mechanical guides for how a Hero may channel the Fire they wield. The exact manifestation of an Invocation is always shaped by the situation, the Hero's intent, and the unfolding story.
A Hero does not simply cast an Invocation.
They call upon one of the oldest forces in existence and ask reality itself to respond.
