The Five Threads Copy link
The Threads are the living forces through which Rhuna changes.
They are not reservoirs of magic, nor simple elements waiting to be commanded. Each Thread is a conduit of possibility, carrying a particular expression of creation through the world. They shape environments, influence living things, alter perception, and leave lasting marks wherever they are drawn too deeply.
In the earliest ages, the Threads emerged through five Ether Flames—conduits formed from the unstable forces beneath Rhuna after the fall of Vel. When the Astraleth discovered them, they believed they had found the means to perfect creation.
Instead, they changed the world forever.
Each Astraleth drew upon a different Thread, imprinting their own nature upon it and shaping vast portions of Rhuna in the process.
Dalo — The Red Thread Copy link
Flame • Touch • Dominion • Conquest
Dalo was drawn by Gahl.
Through it came heat, force, pressure, and the instinct to impose will upon the world. Ironwood forests rose from scorched earth, mountains cracked beneath divine impact, and living things learned that survival could depend upon strength.
Dalo is not merely fire.
It is contact made undeniable.
It is the hand that pushes, the blade that strikes, the heat that transforms, and the will that refuses to yield.
Where Dalo runs strongly, the world becomes physical, immediate, and difficult to ignore.
Cora — The Blue Thread Copy link
Adaptation • Survival • Taste • Endurance
Cora was also drawn by Gahl.
Where Dalo changed the world through force, Cora taught it to survive that force.
Through Cora came cold, hunger, adaptation, and the instinct to endure. Tundras spread across the north. Creatures developed strange protections against hostile environments. Life learned to change rather than break.
Cora is the Thread of survival through transformation.
It favors neither strength nor weakness.
It simply asks:
What must you become to continue?
Jatu — The Green Thread Copy link
Sight • Guidance • Time • Vision
Jatu was drawn by Pahr.
Through it came mirage, prophecy, memory, and the uncertain relationship between what is seen and what is true. Deserts shifted beneath impossible horizons. Dreams began leaving marks upon reality. Time itself became unreliable in places where Jatu ran too strongly.
Jatu does not reveal a single future.
It reveals possibility.
Those who follow it may glimpse paths hidden from others, but every vision risks mistaking what might be for what must be.
Sere — The Yellow Thread Copy link
Harmony • Resonance • Sound • Depth
Sere was drawn by Ezhan.
Through it came rhythm within stone, harmony between moving waters, resonance through caverns, and the hidden music beneath the physical world.
The great depths of Rhuna still carry its influence. Gemstones vibrate with buried memory. Underground rivers follow patterns that seem almost deliberate. Sounds travel through stone farther than they should.
Sere binds without chains.
It is the rhythm that allows many things to move as one.
Nari — The Violet Thread Copy link
Abundance • Growth • Fertility • Scent
Nari was drawn by Kalthi.
Where it spread, life answered immediately.
Grasslands erupted across empty soil. Flowers bloomed in impossible variety. Insects, beasts, roots, spores, and seeds multiplied until entire landscapes became living systems of unchecked creation.
Nari is abundance without hesitation.
It is birth, attraction, scent, growth, reproduction, and the relentless instinct of life to fill every available space.
Its beauty can be overwhelming.
So can its hunger.
Threads as Living Scars Copy link
The Astraleth believed they were shaping Rhuna through the Threads.
They did not understand that every Pull also drew the world closer to the buried wounds beneath it.
As the Threads were drawn more deeply, reality became unstable. Regions transformed into anomalies. Living things evolved with unnatural speed. Vel’s lingering corruption found pathways upward through the fractures.
The War of Severed Threads followed.
The Astraleth were shattered.
The Vathians were born.
The world survived, but the Threads remained woven into it.
Today they are neither purely divine nor purely natural.
They are part of Rhuna.
A forest may carry Dalo in its burning ironwood bark. A desert may shimmer with Jatu and remember futures that never happened. A cavern may sing with Sere long after its builders are gone.
The Threads are not simply powers to be possessed.
They are relationships.
Every Pull changes both the world and the one who reaches for it.
