Rhuna’s calendar is based on a 238-day Rotation, divided into four seasons: Dawntide, Everbloom, Starfall, and Frostmark. Each season represents a shift in celestial energy, influenced by Kar, the moon, and the solar cycle of Rhuna’s twin suns. Dawntide, marked by the thaw and rising light, lasts 59 days, while Everbloom spans 60 days and Starfall spans 59 days, reflecting periods of growth and celestial change. Frostmark, one of the longest and most ominous seasons, stretches for 60 days, marking a time of deep cold, fading light, and Wither’s creeping influence. The names of the months—Anzalor, Jahtar, Eredalor, Zalthar, Talneniar, Dalthar, and Endemar—originate from the Vathian language, with traces of Nuhlrin influence after both civilizations collaborated to refine the calendar. It was first devised when the Vathians, bound to their cycle of eternal reincarnation, experienced their first natural death, marking the need to measure mortal time. However, the Nuhlrin, with their shorter lifespans and strong connection to lunar-solar cycles, later modified the system, aligning it with the passage of eclipses and celestial phenomena.
Days and Timekeeping
Rhuna operates on a five-day week, honoring distinct cultural and cosmic principles. The days—Mersia (Mercy), Tahsia (Tolls), Resia (Rest), Genesia (Giving), and Versia (Vigil)—balance duty and respite, reflecting the rhythm of Rhuna’s spiritual and practical existence. Work and obligation are emphasized on Tahsia, while generosity and trade thrive on Genesia. Versia, the final day of the cycle, is devoted to reflection, watchfulness, and preparation, particularly for those who believe fate is shifting in unseen ways. Each day consists of 19 hours, a number aligned with the pulse of Kar’s orbit and the subtle energy tides that affect the world’s Threads. Unlike many civilizations that rely on mechanical clocks, Rhunians track time through sensory means, such as color shifts in sunplates, resonance from liquid-filled jars, and Threaders attuned to energy flows.
Seasons and Celestial Influence
The seasons of Dawntide, Everbloom, Starfall, and Frostmark dictate more than weather—they shape the movement of Threads, divine activity, and mortal fate. Dawntide is the season of renewal, where ice melts, rivers swell, and the Threads of Guidance and Harmony are at their strongest, guiding civilizations into periods of change. Everbloom brings sustained warmth and abundance, governed by the Threads of Abundance and Domain, strengthening life, trade, and expansion. Starfall signals a celestial shift, where fading light and encroaching darkness stir forgotten forces; it is the season of reflection, preparation, and, for some, upheaval. Finally, Frostmark is one of the longest and most perilous seasons, lasting 60 days—where the Black Thread stirs, the Wither spreads, and the world braces for uncertainty. Eclipses, which hold divine significance, occur cyclically, affecting the influence of Rhun, Zal, and Vel. The Vathians and Nuhlrin originally marked these eclipses as turning points in fate, and even today, the alignment of Kar with Rhunatha’s glow is seen as a sign of impending change.

Dawntide — Season of First Light and Emergence
Dawntide marks the awakening of Rhuna’s year—the birth of balance, growth, and renewal. It is a time of illumination, when the light of Zal first touched the world, when the planet’s Threads stir, and when cultures seek beginnings rooted in both tradition and hope.
Anzelara — Day of First Light (Anzalor 1) Copy link
The year begins with the blaze of Anzelara, sacred to the Zaltar, Meridians, and Rhunai. Zal’s influence burns brightest here, joined by Yul’s gift of life. Firelit rituals purify weapons and spirits alike: Sunwatch meditations usher in clarity, pyre dances embody renewal, and Atrazhel blades are blessed in rites of Order.
Veyli Bloom (Jahtar 17) Copy link
Among the Pahric and Imari, the Veyli Bloom celebrates visions and the weaving of personal destiny. Guided by Pahr’s foresight and Vesar’s storytelling, each person shares a fragment of their own future—through puzzles, recited tales, or the opening of fresh Veyli archives. Dreaming and knowledge entwine in living ritual, as prophecy becomes both game and art.
Treadcall of the Wilds (Jahtar 28) Copy link
For the Irenuk and Zhe, the season crescendos with the Treadcall of the Wilds, signaling the beginning of great migrations. Ere’s pulse of nature and Imar’s compassion lead tribes and beasts into pilgrimage. Masked dances in the plains, scent-marking ceremonies, and dedications to spirit-beasts transform the land into a living procession.
Everbloom — Season of Expansion and Thread-Weaving Copy link
Everbloom is the season when divine power swells and mortal ambition flourishes. Threads are pulled more boldly, Weaves are shared beneath starlight, and new alliances and art emerge as cultures expand their reach.
The Threadbound Offering (Eredalor 7) Copy link
Threaders, Pahric, and Kalthir mark this sacred day by surrendering a stored pull to the Threads themselves. Overseen by Rhun’s balance and Pahr’s guiding visions, this offering restores clarity to the Weave. In fields and glades, mortals share Weaves under night skies, gift spun threads to companions, and interlace their energy with the greater flow of Balance.
The Emarragi Bloom (Zalthar 9) Copy link
For the Imari and Ezhani, this is the living festival of art and illusion. Imar’s compassion and Kar’s reflection converge as murals, pigments, and woven illusions become living keys and memories. Sunset duels of color splash across walls, trio-bonds align through paint, and murals themselves act as doors—opening into dream and remembrance.
The Gleaming (Zalthar 30) Copy link
Among Corvians, Meridians, and Dawnbringers, the Gleaming stands as a reminder of ancient trade pacts upheld in honor of Corvi and Azcala. It is a time of contracts and wagers: oath-cords are renewed, Glimmer wagers resound across markets, and ceremonial documents bind alliances in the light of justice and commerce.
Starfall — Season of Reflection, Death, and Fate Copy link
Starfall draws long shadows across Rhuna. Memory, fate, and the touch of death weave heavily into mortal life, as divine echoes stir old wounds and point toward what lies ahead.
Night of Shattered Threads (Talneniar 15) Copy link
The Gahlians, Zhe, and Rhunai honor those claimed by Wither in this night of mourning. Vel’s hunger, Xantyr’s fate, and Rath’s dominion over death are acknowledged in cloaked processions, silent weaving, and Wither-burnings. Zaltar sects purge corruption with fire, ensuring that chaos is not carried forward into the next season.
Esharun Crossing (Dalthar 10) Copy link
Among the Imari, elders pass into their final work, merging art and life in the last strokes of the Esharun. Imar and Kar preside over this transformation, where dreamwalks, script-marked canvases, and passage into mural-memory complete a life’s cycle of compassion and reflection.
The Emberwatch (Dalthar 29) Copy link
For Zaltar and Duranine, the Emberwatch is a vigil for fallen flamebearers. Zal’s fire and Yul’s vitality intertwine in trial pyres, reforgings of prismatic blades, and a communal fast before shared flame. Each ember honors both sacrifice and continuity.
Frostmark — Season of Endings and Prophecy Copy link
As the year closes, the land hardens under clarity and silence. Prophecy sharpens, reckoning falls, and Rhuna braces for what is to come. Frostmark is both stillness and preparation, where divine truths align under the cold eye of Kar.
The Weaver’s Eve (Endemar 1) Copy link
Threaders and Weavers test the limits of fate in this night of peril. Pahr’s visions, Ere’s vitality, and Tol’s deceit preside as paradox stitches and soul-risks push the Weave into dangerous new patterns. Few succeed, but those who do carry power and stories that shape the age to come.
Lottery of the Divine (Endemar 10) Copy link
Meridians hold their fates in Glimmer as Xul, Xantyr, and Corvi preside over the public drawing. Ashes are cast for luck, wagers are made in divine-risk games, and tokens of blessing or doom are exchanged. Chance and fate collide in a ritual of both hope and hazard.
Veil of Balance (Endemar 30) Copy link
Midwinter gathers in the silence of alignment—solar and lunar, Balance and Fate. Rhun, Kar, and Xantyr converge in this stillness. Rhunai, Karthine, and all who walk divine pathways join in mirrored walks, equinox meditations, and prayers of dual-sanction. The world pauses, breath held, awaiting renewal.
Moon Cycles of Kar Copy link
The moon Kar is a mirror of Balance and Chaos in the traditions of Rhuna. Her phases inspire rites, stories, and interpretations of dreams and fate. These associations are narrative: they do not change Performance values, Fate draws, Reserve stores, or access to Sanction.
The Mirrorlight Phase (Full Moon — 7 Days) Copy link
Kar gleams whole, symbolizing reflection, judgment, and divine vision. Rhun, Kar, and Xantyr figure in rites of Vision, Reflection, and Balance. Pahric read the sky, Imari share ancestral stories through illusion, and Zaltar hold moonlit purification trials. The phase grants no automatic bonus.
The Hollowed Eye (Waning Crescent — 6 Days) Copy link
Secrets and fading memory dominate traditions associated with Vel, Tol, and Kar’s shadow aspect. Uthuru travel by night, Ezhani perform discordant music as ritual, and House Serakar weaves forbidden contracts under the veiled light. These customs impose no Sanction restriction or mechanical enhancement.
The Void Moon (New Moon — 8 Days) Copy link
In Kar’s silence, Xul, Rhun, and Rath figure in stories of uncertain fate and unbidden dreams. Karthine initiations, Ithraka ghost-walks, and Corvian contract taboos mark this as a liminal crossing. The phase adds no Fate draw and removes no stored Threads.
The Waxing Gaze (Waxing Crescent — 6 Days) Copy link
Yul, Imar, and Vesar figure in celebrations of renewal, creativity, and memory. Some cultures call children born now Moon-Touched as a ceremonial description. Kalthir gather blossoms, Imari seal trio-bonds, and Meridians gamble under the promise of fresh odds. The title grants no curse immunity or other mechanical benefit.
Celestial Drift (Interlunar Days — 2 Days) Copy link
Between phases, stories describe a world hanging loosely on its Threads. Dreams and uncertainties become themes for the WorldKeeper, while communities interpret the quiet according to local tradition. These days require no extra Fate draws or changes to weaving rules.
