Before the first age, two ancient cosmic forces became one, giving rise to Xul, the living Universe. In its first breath, the Eight Planes revealed themselves across the void, each embodying a fundamental force of existence. Long before gods or mortals walked their paths, these realms became the bones of reality itself.

In the first breath of Xul, the Eight Planes emerged from the silence of the void. Order, Balance, Change, and Chaos took form as vast realms suspended across the newborn cosmos, each embodying a fundamental truth of existence. Together they became the foundation upon which every god, world, and destiny would one day be built.

Across the newborn cosmos, the Eight Planes emerge as the first expressions of existence itself. From Tarithel's Absolute Order to Velhdar's Absolute Chaos, each realm embodies a fundamental force that shapes reality. Between them stands Rhuna, the Plane of Balance, where the destinies of gods, mortals, and worlds will one day converge.

Though the Planes stand in harmony, Vel hungers for more than his own domain. From the depths of Velhdar, he begins devouring the neighboring realms, consuming their essence and folding their power into himself. One by one the Planes fall toward darkness, until only Rhun remains between Vel and the complete unraveling of existence.

As Vel consumes the outer Planes, not all of their power is lost. The vast energies of creation, motion, transformation, and chaos are compressed into three crystalline remnants of unimaginable potency. These become known as the Seed-Stones—fragments of entire realms, carrying within them the concentrated essence of worlds that no longer exist.
The Veloth are an unintended exception to deliberate Astralkin Materialization. As Vel consumed the Planes and compressed their power into the Seed-Stones, he also swallowed portions of Astravae, the Primordial Life-Web. Life formed chaotically within that consumption and erupted from his blackened heart in the deep chasms of Rhuna. This emergence was not an act of deliberate creation; whether Vel rejected that life or it broke free of him remains uncertain.
